‘95 Mustang GT

The Car

After my last car had been wrecked I had looked for a little over a year for a clean 5.0 Mustang. I finally found a white 1995 AODE Convertible Mustang GT with 116k miles on the clock and in great condition for the miles - it was stock down to even the air silencer. Since this was my 3rd 5.0 Mustang, mods started as soon as I got it.

Here’s a startup video as it stands.

At the Track

My first track run was a baseline for the car - the mods I had at that point were the MSD coil, K&N air filter and underdrive pullies - I hit a 15.3 @ 89.8 MPH with a 2.4 60ft which is spot on for the mods. (not the 60ft - haha)

2006/08
After a Jmodded 4R70W swap, 2800 converter, exhaust, Cobra intake I was able to nail a 14.51 @ 94.98 MPH with a 2.1 60ft!

2006/12/03
With the addition of Nitto 555R Drag Radials, some cooler air and a little more experience with the stall, I ran a bunch of 14.0-14.1 runs and a best of 14.03 @ 95.32MPH with a 1.920 60ft!

2006/12/17
Added some upper and lower control arms and had a warmer day than last time. Ran one 14.0 and three 14.1s - wasn’t able to beat my previous 60ft.

2007/04/29
Crazy hot weather today - 90 degrees according to the Weather Channel. Had an awesome time despite the heat, which showed up in slightly slower times. Made 7 passes - best run of the day was 14.183 @ 95.12MPH and 1.939 60ft, the rest of the runs were 14.2s. Car performed well - highest 60ft was 2.000. Next time out it will be whistlin’. Here’s an in-car video.

2007/10/14
Hit a new best of a 12.3@108 with a 1.76 60ft. Outta gear with the 4.10s! Video of my first run of the day. Here is the tune.

2007/12/3
Not my best track outing yet. I ended up lifting the heads on the first run at 14# of boost! Times ranged from 12.49 to 12.68. First run, second run, third run

Planned Mods

With the S-trim on, the car is doing great. It’s a fun daily driver and still knocks down 18+ mpg going to work and back. When the block goes (over 140,000 miles on the shortblock), a forged 331 with a cam will go in. Stock or aftermarket block unknown. Looking to keep the car daily drivable and easy on gas.
