Hey there - glad you could make it. As you can tell by the lack of posts lately I’ve been BUSY. It’s a good kinda busy though.
My boy Vedros and his family is in town so we got to do a fun evening with them last nite - holla at my boy!
The rest of my life has consisted of ball games/practice, working around the house and doing web stuffs.
Speaking of web stuffs, my first set of web servers is in for our cluster so Carner and I have been busy getting them all setup, configured and secured. We’re using CentOS (Redhat Enterprise Linux) for the OS’s and I’m loving it. I got to do some load testing on the static content server today and I couldn’t even get the load above 0.1 with 1000 concurrent users hitting it every three seconds for ten minutes straight. (Lighttpd rocks) I tried upping the users and concurrency but the bottleneck turned out to by the server I was using to lay “siege” with. Ha ha. The rest of the servers are mumbo jumbo application and database servers. I’m using Cacti to gather all the logs up via SNMP and display them in a central location - it’s giving me a bit of a problem at the moment but I’m sure I’ll figure it out.
Enough mumbo jumbo. Everyone asks about the Mach 1 - that’s the last thing I have time for unfortunately… I’ve got a new steering gear waiting on me to get a free day to install it. The white ’stang hasn’t been washed in like a month… it’s indeed sad times for the ponies of the family.
All else is good - despite the busyness at work and personal life, I am loving it - G and I are doing it big and keeping it real - and that’s what it’s all about.
