Well I’ve got to admit - I was a little concerned today - my car was a bit stuttery riding around today - felt like it was slipping or something. I wrote it off to either a bad convertor locking tune or low transmission fluid (because air bled out the system).
I got home after work and popped the hood and low and behold I heard a sharp, rapid POP POP POP that I didn’t hear with the hood closed.
Now the car guys that read my blog will already know what the the sound was but I’ll indulge the rest of you… I had a spark plug wire grounding out. So I checked around and sure enough, the #4 cylinder wire was making a little spark (on a rubber hose of all things). So I grabbed a spare wire I had and put it on.
BAM - car was running better than ever!
All I can figure on the wire is that while we were working on the transmission this weekend we crushed the wire between two pieces of metal. It’s definately not burned - something squashed it.
Anyways, so long story short, I rode around and got some gas. On the way home I decided to stomp on it a bit since I’ve been babying it since the install (keeping it below 3k).
So the next stop sign I found was free of people and cars so I hit the loud pedal and totally annhilated the tires! It’s never done that before!
In talking to the race shop I bought the transmission from, they said I could go ahead and max out the performance settings in the computer so that plus some shift point tuning is my next step… the best is yet to come!
EDIT: I’m eyeing some Taylor 8.2 wires as my next set. I’ve heard these suckers are super durable and notice that the Taylor brand wires are in use on many high performance cars.

Time for some accel extra thin performance wire for uber weight savings!!
Btw, I want a ride
If you’re a good boy you’ll get one Saturday when we swap balancers on your ride.
