Got the car put back together and started up today - WITHOUT ANY EXHAUST. It was unbelievably loud - my neighbor came outside to see where the drag car was and tried to talk to me but I couldn’t hear anything, I just saw his mouth move. :)We’ve got a leak at the thermostat housing so we pulled it off and got it ready to put another one on but it got dark and we didn’t have a spare gasket so that’ll have to wait. Everything else looks good so far - Sam said the car was idling at 900 (where I set it in the tune). Timing looked steady when I shot it with the light.
There’s nothing like starting up an engine after doing major work on it. Always a touch of anxiousness to see if you screwed up one of the couple of thousand steps you had to do to get everything back together. When you are dealing with tolerances that are measured as .004 you have got to be precise. When you are adding non-factory parts on a car, there is always some sort of modification you will have to make and problem you will have to solve to move forward (pun) - it’s a lot of fun.
Oh yeah, and big thanks to Glenda, the best mommy and wife ever. She let me spend my whole weekend wrenching on a Mustang and didn’t even give me a hard time. Now that is an awesome woman - love ya G!!!

Many many maaany thanks to Wes and especially Glenda for allowing me to steal her husband for a whole weekend. I couldn’t have done it without you. I only hope I can find ways to help you out!
