Hey it’s been a while since I’ve posted but I guess that represents how life has been lately, very busy.
I should have some dyno #s on my car as soon as I get the time to strap it down to the dyno. I placed my order for an ignition box, coil and wires today. Once I get those on we’ll head back out to the ole’ dragstrip in search of that elusive 11 second timeslip.
The Mach 1 is nearing completion in the rearend department. I have the chunk rebuilt and made my first pass at cleaning the old gear oil and gunk out of the housing. All I’ve got left is to hit it one final time with some cleaner then bolt it all back together. I’ll be happy to once again be able to drive it. It will be short-lived however because I am planning to pull the motor and fix an oil leak. I think I will put the car on a lift at the shop first to be dead sure it is leaking out the rear main seal before I yank out the motor/tranny. Plans are still afoot to convert it over to EFI, I just wanted to take care of these last couple mechanical issues before I go stirring the pot again.
Work at K-fx has been going awesome. It seems we are busier than ever, with talks of maybe hiring an additional programmer to help even further with the workload. I’m finding that there is a fine line between productivity and burnout. We’ve got our programming running so well that at times I think we need to come up for air and just take it a bit slower. We as a team have planned some major upgrades to our current workflow to further improve what we do but I think absolute productivity isn’t always the best, we’ve got to be sure we continue to enjoy our work and take pride in it. So that is my next task to ponder, how to slow down so we can work faster and have a blast doing what we love.
I’m contemplating doing the ole’ reformat of my laptop very very soon. As a matter of a fact I would have done it tonite had I not forgotten my external backup drive at the office. Windows has gotten out of hand, even with an upgrade to 2GB of memory things drag far too often. I dread the whole wipe and reload process but I know it will work out better in the end.
Kayla and I are home alone tonite, G is out with her friends. So far Kayla has managed to show me how to disassemble a DVD cover (I did not know it was possible) and how to climb up in chairs. I’m watching her “read” a book now, she is super cute.
I think that’ll be it for now, drop me an email if we havn’t talked and let me know what is up!
